Laughlin Community Facts...
... from the Clark County Water Reclamation District
The Laughlin Wastewater Reclamation Facility
(LWRF).
The LWRF, located 1 mile west of the Laughlin gaming district,
is an 8 million gallons per day (mgd) biological treatment
facility. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology and equipment
the LWRF has served the town of Laughlin since the dedication
of municipal water and wastewater facilities in 1985.
What happens to the water we use?
Each day 3.5 million gallons of used water and sewage from
local homes, hotels, motels, schools, churches and businesses
make their way through the 26 miles of sewer pipe and three
pumping stations (lift stations) and are pumped up to the Laughlin
Wastewater Reclamation Facility. At the treatment facilities,
the wastewater travels through a series of processes allowing
the solids to be biologically removed. Reclaimed water
is sold to customers and treated water is returned to the Colorado River.
